Who does Independence Plus support?
We work with adults with developmental disabilities at home and in the community. Contact us to discuss your location, goals, and available services.
Where can support take place?
Support at home and in your community. Contact us to discuss your goals and service availability.
Do families pay for services?
Regional center–authorized services are paid for by the regional center, at no cost to clients or their families. We accept Self-Determination Program (SDP) participants; services must fit the applicable approved funding arrangements. Personal expenses such as rent, food, tuition, or outing admission are separate from service funding.
How do you help me access benefits and resources?
We work alongside you to identify resources that fit your goals, understand application steps, organize information, communicate with agencies, and track follow-up and renewals. Together, we build your confidence navigating these systems. Support depends on your agreed program scope and authorization; the responsible agency decides eligibility and approval.
Can you help with housing?
Our team works with you to identify housing resources, navigate subsidized housing waitlist applications and searches, explore roommate matching, and build skills for a move. Housing eligibility, wait times, availability, and placement are determined by the relevant programs and providers.
Are social activities just facilitated outings?
Outings are a starting point. We strive to help clients develop lasting friendships through shared interests, communication skills, and connections that continue beyond staff-facilitated activities.
How are families involved?
We value collaboration with family and trusted supporters, guided by the adult client’s preferences, consent, and applicable decision-making arrangements.
Let’s make more possible.
